Customer Review: runs small, don't believe the picture
Very nice fitted cap. Ordered XL, which fits me fine in all the other hats I wear, but this one is very tight. I'd almost think they mislabeled a large. The pictures shows a red cap, blue brim. Mine arrived solid red.
Customer Review: Great Fit!
I got the cap today and it fits great! I live down here in Central Florida. We have a lot of Red Sox fans here but our stores sell very little in Red Sox shirts and caps, so we order by e-mail. You worry a little about that. This cap is a perfect fit.

I hope these tips will help you. I used to think and feel being the loud tough manager was the only way to get results. Over the yearsI have learned that I was missing out on some the best parts of coaching youth baseball, being a chance to be a teacher and a friend. We must have discipline on the team, and it comes from example, not byyelling or tearing down of players. You and your players will havemany good memories to share with others. That is what it is all aboutanyway.

Mental attitude plays such a big role in the success of a player. Aplayer can have great natural talent and ability, but will have a tough time reaching their potential if they do not develop a good positivemental attitude and outlook. The player with the right mental outlookand attitude will make his natural talent come through. What makes upa proper mental attitude?

It's All in Your Attitude in Coaching Youth Baseball

RELAXATION

Relaxation is essential in developing skills needed in baseball. Youthbaseball is meant to be fun for players as well as coaches. Everyonewho relaxes will perform better no matter what the task at hand. Concent ration and relaxation are like peas in a pod, whether it is throwing a ball to a hitter or spearing a line drive at third. You must learnto control your emotions as a player or a coach. By concentrating on what you doing, you will remove fear and tension from your mind. A confident mind and relaxed body are great keys to success on and off the baseball field.

I realize it's fall going on winter, but one can always start thinking about next year and what you are going to do different do become animproved coach.

Here are a few ATTITUDE ideas I would like to share with you. I willsending a few more in the coming weeks. Let's call this letter #1 on ATTITUDE for players and coaches

CONCENTRATION

ATTITUDE FROM THE TOP DOWN

When you take the field your thoughts should be strictly baseball. Youwill have to groom your mind to and body to perform a skill thoughconcentration. You and the coaches must always be alert and thinking. For example, when hitting, keep one thought with you, follow the ballto plate and hit it.

There are many hallmarks of a well-coached team, disciplined team. Theyare clearly evident during practice and games. The following itemsare what makes up a solid team.

It's All in Your Attitude in Coaching Youth Baseball

I would like to give attitude a big plug here because it is so vitalnot just in youth baseball, it is vital in all areas of your player's lives. You have a responsibility to impart more than just baseball lessons to your players if you are truly serious about helpingyour players.

Players believe in school. Players believe in coaches. Players believe in their teammatesPlayers and coaches are punctual for practices, games and meetings. Players dress properly. Players respect their community

As you may already know I'm a big fan of positive attitude from thecoaches as well as the players and parents. I feel there is no place on a youth baseball club for tearing down of players no matter whatthe perceived importance of the situation.

DETERMINATION

It's All in Your Attitude in Coaching Youth Baseball

Thanks for your time Coach Chip Lemin 440 465 3337

You must be an example to parents and players. It's only a game in theend. No else outside of a few adults on your team will even care howyour team does, believe me. You need your players to have positiveexperiences in youth baseball to enrich their lives. This way theymay pass it on if and when they have a chance to coach later.

While your intent is to hold the runner on the base, it is imperative when making your throw to any base that you have good throwing mechanics. If not, you risk an overthrow which is giving the runner a free base or two.

Many right handed pitchers have the tendency to open up when they throw to first. Left handed pitchers tend to open up when they throw the ball to third base during a pick off. Staying closed while keeping a runner close to the bag is something that takes a lot of practice. Most pitchers have a difficult time maintaining their throwing mechanics when they throw to second base because most mounds, particularly at the little league level, don't have much of a slope. When you make the throw to second, it's like taking a step down a steep stair; you can lose your balance very easily.

Pitching Mechanics - Maintain Proper Throwing Mechanics With Your Pick off Moves

I will share a few pitching mechanic tips before I talk about proper throwing technique to the bases.

Now, moving on to proper throwing mechanics to the bases:

Another mechanical adjustment many pitchers need to make is keeping "equal and opposite" arms. Equal and Opposite was a term coined, I believe by Tom House. It means that your glove arm is a mirror image of what your throwing arm is doing. It is a form of maintaining balance and posture throughout your delivery. You can have a difficult time throwing strikes or hitting your target if you don't learn this strategy.

Here are some basic pointers you need to know when you throw the baseball. First and foremost, when you throw the ball it is imperative that all of your energy is going toward your target. If you are on the mound and you want to throw to the catcher, all of your momentum better be going toward the catcher or you run the risk of not only making a bad throw; but putting undue stress on your throwing arm. So, maintaining your balance ensuring that your head is going in the direction of the throw is the first step.Staying closed is another important aspect of throwing the baseball. You want to ensure that your feet, hips and shoulders remain in a closed posture all the way to foot strike.

Learning different pick-off moves to all of the bases is important to your success as a pitcher. It boosts your confidence at a young age, so you can focus more on the batter as opposed to worrying about what you don't know as a pitcher. Knowledge about your pick off moves will give you that confidence. However, this isn't an article about how to pick anybody off, how to catch a runner stealing or even getting out of a pickle. It is information about maintaining proper throwing technique while you keep the runner close to the bag.
